	Heather Edwards

Heather Edwards, the Institute’s new outreach coordinator, previously worked as a researcher with the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office in Lansing and as Ann Arbor’s historic preservation coordinator. Her great intelligence and unstoppable energy bode well for us as she builds our visibility, networks with committed members and donors, and communicates with the board. She and her husband live in Traverse City.

	Mark Denson

New board member Mark Denson is one of southeastern Michigan’s bright young economic development specialists. He directs North American marketing for the Detroit Regional Chamber, touting the area’s business development and capital investment potential. Mark has also worked with the Livonia Economic Development Partnership, One Stop Capital Shop (a City of Detroit project), and Wayne County’s Economic Development Committee. He and his family live in Detroit.

 

New board member John Hackett chairs Wabash National Corporation’s board of directors and teaches graduate courses at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. He was an executive at Cummins Engine Company, vice president of finance and adjunct economic professor at Indiana University, and managing general partner of CID Equity Partners, a large venture capital company. He’s served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s board. He and his family live in New Hampshire and in Glen Arbor, Mich.

	Robert Mossburg

New board member Robert Mossburg owns The Cottage Company, a development firm that attracts national notice for the environmental sensitivity of its properties, particularly its Bay Street Cottages in Harbor Springs, Mich. Rob was a hotel industry executive, a management and real estate consultant, and a director of the team that started Residence Inn Hotels. The Michigan State University graduate also serves on the board of the Little Traverse Conservancy. He and his family live in Santa Barbara and Harbor Springs.
