FEDERAL HIGHWAY SPENDING
• The Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century ("TEA-21"), is the federal law that defines policy on spending $217.3 billion in transportation funds over the next six years. The 1998 bill gives citizens and local governments more authority in planning transportation projects.
