The Michigan Land Use Institute began as the Manistee County Land Use Coalition, to address thepace and scale of Antrim Shale gas development in rural northern Michigan. MCLUC's acronym is pronounced 'muk-luk,' asin the soft-soled moccasin that steps lightly and respectfully on the earth. The MCLUC Reporter has been incorporated into the Great Lakes Bulletin as an ongoing special section.
