Jamboree

About 140 people enjoyed a benefit dinner, concert, and square-dancing on March 8 at the St. Joseph Civic Club in Manistee. The Jamboree was sponsored by the Institute's H2S Committee and the Spirit of the Woods Music Association to support Filer Township's lawsuit seeking the removal of dangerous natural gas wells.
Many thanks to Peacemeal, a folk music trio pictured here featuring, from left to right, Tim Joseph of Brethren and Maureen and Dale Scott of Harbor Springs, for providing the harmonious entertainment.
Our sincere thanks go as well to Wanda Joseph, for (patiently!) calling the square dance; to Gerard Grabowski and Jan Shireman, for donating abundant loaves of their fragrant, hearth-baked sourdough bread; and to the many volunteers, too numerous to mention here, who set up the hall, cooked and served the food, and took care of the clean up!
