Funding community improvement projects is always a challenge. This class covers methods of finding and soliciting financial support from partners in governmental agencies and private foundations. Issues of grant eligibility and appropriateness are addressed. The structure of a typical grant application is explained, and tips provided for writing a persuasive project narrative and an effective budget. The importance of sound project management and timely reporting is stressed, along with suggestions for building future fundraising capacity. This class will be helpful for local government officials and leaders of non-profit civic organizations.
